[ it's easy to find kate on a day like this; the little smoke plume coming from her head can be seen from across the building.

she's at the flight deck early in the day, watching the plane take off while smoke rises from her head. or, if vi's not quite that early, she'll probably linger for some time, looking out into the distance. ]

[ noooooo her smoke plume...

she makes her way over, glancing out at the plane taking off, and then just - flops down next to her. sits on the floor, even, if she has to. ]

He was from your round, wasn't he? [ in a soft tone. ]

[ she answers while still gazing outward. ]

... Yes.

He was one of the "overseers" who supported us.

To me, he was a kind and reliable person.

[ genuinely. ]

He seemed like a good guy. [ she doesn't know this, but there's no point in being rude about it. ] He's not gone, at least, not forever. I know that doesn't help.
