I knew the basics. Just... the one I half-watched was my murderer, so I didn't... care as much.

... I suppose it only gets harder, the more you get to know people...

[ a beat, and she pulls her hand out of her pocket and offers it to kate. so they can hold hands and walk. she doesn't have to take it, but y'know. affection. ]

Maybe that's true. [ ... ] I think it's better than not having people at all, though.

[ affection... she takes the offered hand. and nods. ]

I think so, too.

[ even though it hurts sometimes. ]

... What is your team like so far?

[doublefists]

[ holds her hand! swings it a little, in a goofy way. ]

A bunch of weirdos. [ fondly, though. ] I like them, and we all get along pretty well, even if I think I'm gonna end up having to put Childe and Jonas in separate rooms.

[ a beat. ]

What about yours? They getting along okay?

... I suppose they don't see eye-to-eye on much?

[ jonas and childe... ]

Our team gets along wonderfully, I think. Dante is a bit... Dante, but we find enough that we can agree on.

[doublefists]

Dante sure fucking is Dante.

[ that's more affectionate than annoyed, though. ]

That's the idea, though, it's the same for us. We get along great, just sometimes you have to sort of knock some heads together. It'll be fine.

[ she doesn't know what beef jonas and childe might have, but she's got experience with making stupid boys behave, so. ]

Oh, come to think of it... I haven't seen your team's lounge. Would you let me come and visit for a bit?

[doublefists]

Oh, yeah, of course.

[ a little grin. ]

You want to right now? We can head over.

[sootprints]

[ ... she nods! ]

[ then they can go!! she keeps hold on her hand as they go, swinging them every so often. instinct, almost, like a move that maybe she used to do for someone else to make them laugh.

but once they get there, she'll open the door, hand kate a guest pass, and let her in!

the lounge is still beige-y, but when you walk into the common room, it's as follows:

A bar with a cozy atmosphere with a small collection of both tables and couches for seating. The bar itself is backlit by low neon lights for a warm glow and a back wall displaying all sorts of bottles of liquor, mixers and otherwise. The bar top is solid with a small built-in sink and ice box for making delicious drinks and a collection of sugars, spices, and salts are kept in organized containers amongst the glasses. The general feel of it is a mix of airport and this.

there's also a kitchen and two dorm rooms off to the side. ]

Nothing special, but hey.

[ also the poro is in here, snoring loudly on one of the couches. ]

It looks a nice place to relax with friends.

[ kate is, unsurprisingly, not a bar person. but she can appreciate the vibe of a place that's so very different from anything she's known.

... a glance at strohl jr. ]

Ah. It's that creature...

[ the one that chased her at the party... ]

[ vi figured she wouldn't be super fond of the bar, but at least it's cozy.

as for strohl junior, vi glances over at him. ]

Oh, yeah - that's Strohl Jr. He's pretty friendly, do you like animals?

[ a nod. ] I haven't spent much time around them, though...

[ other than her roommate who was a dog who got raptured... ]

... You named him "Strohl Jr."??

He'll be nice. You can kind of just pick him up like a ball and he lets you do it.

[ THE DOG THAT GOT RAPTURED help ]

the poro kicks his leg, and then snorts himself awake, falling off the couch. ]

[ watches him fall. ]

... Oh. I think I can see it...

also it's like the size of a basketball, maybe a little smaller. ]

If he licks you, tell him no. He'll stop.

Okay, er...

Here, Strohl...

[ kneels down and tries to beckon him over. does he know his own name? ]

[ he does, by now! he hops up to his feet, makes a noise that sounds like a squeaky toy, and waddles over to her. this time he is a little more gentle in his approach, hopping up to her to lick her hand.

he's like, vibrating with how excited he is to be greeted. vi watches, leaning against the wall with her arms crossed. ]

[ he licks her hand... gets some soot on his tongue. at least it's not a lot...

with her other hand, kate gives him some pets. ]
