but the match is over, and so she comes out and collapses down on a bench, head in her hands. grinds at her eye sockets with her palms. the vibes go from intense to something exhausted, instead. she spits blood to the side, and sighs. ]
[He will definitely find her there because he loves The Cage, unsurprisingly!!! Though it's hard to miss the energy here, so instead of leaping right in for his turn after she's done, he wanders over, holding out a bottle of water for her.]

I wouldn't go that far. I preferred it in hell because we got all our abilities back, is all. Though I haven't had the best experiences with court trials even outside of these games, so I won't complain about not having to deal with them.
[Objectively he would rather be on the other side too, honestly, since he's more effective over there--but it's true that he's clear less bothered about it overall than she is, so it's not like her observation is wrong.]

...It was more frustrating for me on the other side, I think. Knowing I'd be put to sleep, no matter what I tried. Unable to intervene, even if something was happening right next to me.
[Not even necessarily an attack from others, but. He's not going to share Kate's traumas without her permission, even to Vi, whom he trusts to handle it delicately.

It's different for her--the same way it is for me. Death loses some of its impact when you've been through it enough times, and you know it isn't going to stick. But she's powerless here, so she knows that without me, she's an easy target. And... [He pauses, trying to decide how to word what he wants to say. Settles on:] ...It's hard to find people who'll care about what happens to you in hell. She's been there too long.
[He doesn't respect her as the ruler of hell, and he certainly doesn't consider her an innocent child to shield from the horrors, but that doesn't mean he can't tell that she is very much not okay, and not in the "haha I'm Childe I cook and clean and I love bloodshed also" way.]
